DAY 4 — Ahead of schedule! 🔨🚿⚡

The new shower is officially starting to take shape!

All framing, backing and niche framing are now complete, making sure we have the proper support in place for everything that’s coming next.

We’re also ahead of schedule, which allowed us to move up the electrical work and get the electrical rough-in completed earlier than planned. 🙌

Next up: plumbing rough-in 🚿

Once that’s complete, we’ll be another big step closer to getting this custom shower closed in and ready for waterproofing.

The best parts are still to come. 👀

DAY 3 — Rebuild mode 🔨🚿

After uncovering the water damage during demo, all of the rotted and compromised framing has now been removed and replaced, giving us a solid foundation to move forward.

The layout for the new custom shower base has been confirmed, and today we’re framing in the new shower niche to get everything exactly where it needs to be.

Next up: plumbing rough-ins before we start closing things back up and bringing this custom shower together. 👀

DAY 2 — Demo is almost complete! 🔨🚿

As we opened up the existing shower, we discovered some pretty significant issues hiding behind the walls.

The previous shower was not properly waterproofed, and the grout installation had failed in areas, allowing water to make its way behind the wall finish. Over time, that moisture reached the framing and caused visible water and rot damage.

Our next step is to complete an exploratory investigation to determine exactly how far the damage extends. Any compromised or rotted framing will be removed and replaced before we move forward with rebuilding the new custom shower.

This is exactly why proper waterproofing and installation matter — what you can’t see behind the walls can become a much bigger problem over time.

We’re taking this dated bathroom down and rebuilding it into a completely refreshed space featuring a custom-built shower and updated finishes throughout.

From demolition and prep to waterproofing, tile, fixtures and the finishing details, our team handles the renovation from start to finish.

🔨 Another floor saved without the need for a full replacement.
