Bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are essential to healthy ecosystems, but they’re under threat. As cities grow denser, pollinator-friendly spaces are shrinking. That’s why this week in June, Pollinator week, is a timely reminder that thoughtful urban design can help restore balance.
At Green Theory, we create planters and green infrastructure that support biodiversity right where it’s needed most: in the city. Whether it’s adding native flowering species to a streetscape or integrating pollinator plants into rooftop terraces, every square foot of green space matters.
Meanwhile, across Europe, inspiring ideas are taking root. From honey highways (wildflower corridors planted along highways) to “buzz stops” that turn ordinary rooftops into pollinator habitats. These projects show that even the most overlooked surfaces can be designed with life in mind.
From green roofs to ground-level planters, we believe cities should do more than just function, they should flourish.
