Robotic painting coming soon !

While uneventful for many, today was very special for one individual in our community. It marked the beginning of a long journey towards recovery from addiction.

While stories like these aren’t rare, they are often hidden in the background. Drowned out by hate, debate, fear mongering, and rhetoric from all parts of the spectrum. This toxicity is something we have all been guilty of participating in.

This case in particular marked a suprising and exciting twist wherein folks from all stripes and ideologies participated in making this trip possible for this person. It has given us tremendous hope as we ramp up support for others as they begin or continue on their journey through and beyond addiction, whatever that may look like to them.

So with that, let’s make 2024 a year where we celebrate those sparks of glimmering hope and the success of our peers rather than the darkness we have become so focused on. A year where we ask ourselves “how can I make help?” instead of finding ways to bash and spew hate. Try to seek insight and context into why your neighbors hold the views they do rather than attack them on face value. Most importantly, realize that behind every comment, message.
, post, video, and voice, there is a person. A human who is worth respecting. One who can hold a vastly different opinion than you, yet still be your friend. With the age of the internet we seemed to have lost that.

Let’s make 2024 about community.

Hey All,

As you've probably noticed our business FaceBook page has been all over the place in regards to our posted content! Originally a page for us to post about our current and upcoming projects as a Tiny Home Manufacturer, this page has recently been posting about a number of other issues, events, and pages. This has been largely influenced by a number of different factors:

In January of 2023 we set out to create a non-profit arm to our business called Buildx Community. In collaboration with our non-profit arm we then began working diligently on the Buddy Bus Project in February of 2023. In March of 2023, we moved our shop from Hamilton Rd, in Port Hope to Dale Rd & HWY 28 in Port Hope. Although this move has granted us significantly more space, there is still lots of work to be done to make the facility fully operational so we can get back to our core mission - building Tiny Homes!

We understand that the diverse range of content has been confusing to some and for that purpose we have created two new FaceBook pages which will be focusing on our non-profit arm and the Buddy Bus Project FULL-TIME so we can keep you updated on Buildx’s progress and projects at our new facility! Although segregating our page is a BIG task we want to make sure you're only seeing the specific content you followed us to see! Our additional pages now include:

***Our non-profit page: Buildx Community***

Our non-profit page will be posting about the Buddy Bus Project but will also offer updates and information about NEW adventures and projects we're working on.

***The Buddy Bus Page: Buddy Bus Project by Buildx Community***

The Buddy Bus page will be focusing specifically on the Buddy Bus project, our service locations, services onboard, local partnerships, and all other things Buddy Bus related!

We’re sorry for any confusion our cross-posting may have caused and hopefully the separation of content through our new pages will also allow us to communicate more clearly in regards to our endeavors as a business.

🗓 Everyday is Homelessness Day! It's a year-round mission to make a difference.

We've spent this last year crafting the Buddy Bus, collaborating with local leaders, and building relationships in order to make the Buddy Bus Project a reality.

We'll be spending these next couple months working with the Port Hope Municipality to get the Buddy Bus approved for use this winter in our community.

Let's continue to work together as a community to eradicate homelessness.

Today, we honor National Truth and Reconciliation Day, a reminder of the atrocities faced by the Indigenous community in residential schools and the ongoing journey of healing and reconciliation.

We pay tribute to the survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities. Wearing an orange shirt is just the beginning. Here's a list of activities everyone can engage in to deepen their understanding and support of the Indigenous community:

• Take time to educate yourself about the history and impact of residential schools.
• Listen to Indigenous stories, songs, and voices.
• Attend local events or vigils in your community.
• Support Indigenous artists, businesses, and authors.
• Reflect on the meaning of reconciliation and consider how you can contribute.

Let's unite in understanding and solidarity. 🧡
