Next stop: Kitimat for the Nation2Nation Annual Forum, October 20–22 at the Riverlodge Recreation Centre.

Getting out on the road is always a good opportunity to spend time in communities across the North and connect with the people who help shape our region.

Nation2Nation brings together First Nations, community leaders, businesses, and industry representatives for conversation, learning, and connection. We’re looking forward to catching up with familiar faces and meeting some new ones in Kitimat.

Apparently, scaffolding has become one of our things. 👷

Scouten Engineering engineers a lot of scaffolds, with Jeff Watson and Craig Hadley spending plenty of time in that world.

📍 The work has taken us from Vancouver Island all the way to Regina, Saskatchewan, with lots happening in between — including right here at home in Prince George.

Scaffolding may be temporary, but there is a considerable amount of engineering behind it. Loads, stability, connections, support conditions, and site-specific constraints can all come into play. 📐

Not bad for something that eventually gets taken apart.

And here in Prince George, there are quite a few people looking forward to seeing exactly that happen at the Aquatic Centre. Anyone else ready to see it come down — and those doors open again? 🏊

Across Northern B.C., collaboration between First Nations, communities, businesses, industry, and technical teams helps shape better projects and stronger outcomes.
That’s one of the things we value about the Nation2Nation Annual Forum, taking place October 20–22, 2026, at the Riverlodge Recreation Centre in Kitimat, B.C. — the chance to listen, learn, share perspectives, and better understand the priorities and opportunities shaping the region.

At Scouten Engineering, we believe good engineering is about more than solving technical challenges. It’s also about understanding the people, communities, and places behind the work.

🍺 Happy National Drink a B**r Day! 🍺

Today, we’re raising a glass for both sides of the border. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸

As Tim Hicks reminds our friends to the south, we’ve got longer fields, bigger balls, one less down… and stronger b**r. 🍻

Scouten will leave the brewing to the experts and the singing to the stars, but when it comes to engineering, we like things strong too.

And judging by the Scouten fridge — stocked with a little homebrew — we’re well prepared to celebrate… Friday after work, of course.🍻

What better place for a Scouten team photoshoot than on a bridge we designed? 📸

We traded the office for some sunshine at Cottonwood Island Park and brought the Scouten team together for an afternoon of photos, laughs, and plenty of good energy.
