As Hurricane Helene stormed toward the U.S., we asked drivers to make special overnight deliveries. The plan was to move generators to areas that would likely lose power.

Not only did our drivers make their runs, but they did it a full 24 hours before an LTL carrier would have.

That was a big win. But Helene did strand one of our drivers, with a tree falling onto his cab! Luckily, a nearby family offered him food and shelter. It worked out for the best; they’re still in touch today!

Moments like these don’t just happen during emergencies, but these stories do show how dedicated drivers are. That’s why we’re using Truck Driver Appreciation Week to say thank you to the men and women who keep our supply chains moving.
