Capital Winch vient de livrer une unité hydraulique ainsi que quatre treuils hydrauliques de 30 tonnes pour une application de construction maritime.
Trois treuils seront utilisés pour la mise en place et la retrait des pieux d'ancrage d'une barge (spuds). Le quatrième treuil servira à la traction et au positionnement de la barge.
Ces équipements seront utilisés dans le Grand Nord canadien pour un projet de dragage d'une voie navigable.
Un beau projet industriel conçu pour des conditions de travail exigeantes.

Capital Winch a récemment livré un treuil au site historique Britannia Shipyards à Richmond, Colombie-Britannique. Le treuil servira à tracter le M.V. Burnaby, bateau remorqueur de 38 pieds du XIX, afin de terminer la restauration.

Treuil de 3750 lb de capacité, enroulement de 600 pieds de câbles 3/8'', mouflage 4:1 pour une capacité totale de 12000 lb à la dernière couche, moteur électrique de 7.5 hp, guide de câble motorisé.

Capital Winch recently delivered a winch to the historic Britannia Shipyards site in Richmond. The winch will be used to pull the M.V. Burnaby, a 38-foot 19th-century tugboat, as part of its restoration process.
Winch specifications:
3,750 lb capacity, 600 feet of 3/8" cable, 4:1 reeving for a total capacity of 12,000 lb on the last layer, 7.5 hp electric motor, motorised level wind.

Treuil d’échafaudage – Four d’aluminerie

Notre client MBI Corexcel est spécialisé la rénovation de réservoir industriel. Dans le cadre de travaux sur un four d’aluminerie, l’entreprise avait besoin d’un système de levage portatif avec potence pour fixation sur tuyau d’échafaudage standard, une capacité de 320 lb pour soulever des briques et des outils, 150 pieds de levage avec câble anti giratoire pour soulever la charge jusqu’au sommet en contrôle, une vitesse de 60 pieds/min avec variateur de fréquence pour une opération rapide et en douceur.

Plutôt que d’utiliser un équipement générique, le treuil a été conçu spécifiquement selon les conditions réelles du chantier.

Scaffolding Winch – Aluminum Smelter Furnace

Our client, MBI Corexcel, specializes in industrial tank refurbishment. During maintenance work on an aluminum smelter furnace, the company required a portable lifting system with a jib arm designed for mounting on standard scaffolding pipe, a 320 lb lifting capacity for handling bricks and tools, and 150 feet of lifting height using a non-rotating wire rope to maintain load control all the way to the top.

The winch also features a lifting speed of 60 ft/min and a variable frequency drive for smooth and efficient operation.

Rather than using generic equipment, the winch was specifically engineered to meet the actual conditions and constraints of the job site.

Rouleaux guides 12T – Treuil tire-wagon

Notre client, Trouw Nutrition Canada, avait un problème d’usure prématurée du câble de son treuil tire-wagon, causant des remplacements fréquents, des arrêts d’opération et un risque accru d’accidents. Lors de la traction des wagons, le câble du treuil se maintenait toujours du même côté du tambour.

La cause : au fur et à mesure que le treuil tire les wagons, l’angle de déviation du câble augmente. Lorsque cet angle dépasse 1,5 degré, le câble n’est plus en mesure de se déplacer latéralement sur le tambour pour créer un enroulement uniforme.

La solution : ajouter des rouleaux guides à une distance suffisante du treuil afin de maintenir l’angle de déviation inférieur à 1,5 degré. Règle du pouce : les rouleaux guides ou poulies de déviation doivent être positionnés à environ 20 fois la largeur du tambour (exemple : pour un tambour de 2 pieds de large, les rouleaux guides doivent être à environ 40 pieds).

12T Guide Rollers – Railcar Pulling Winch
Our client, Trouw Nutrition Canada, was experiencing premature wire rope wear on their railcar pulling winch, resulting in frequent replacements, operational downtime, and increased safety risks. During operation, the wire rope was consistently accumulating on the same side of the drum.
Root cause
As the winch pulls the railcars, the fleet angle increases. Once the angle exceeds approximately 1.5 degrees, the rope can no longer travel laterally across the drum, leading to uneven spooling.
Solution
Install guide rollers at a sufficient distance from the winch to maintain the fleet angle below 1.5 degrees.
Rule of thumb: guide rollers or deflection sheaves should be positioned at approximately 20× the drum width.
Example: for a 2 ft wide drum, rollers should be located at approximately 40 ft.

Galon à mesurer - Pont de l'Ile d'orléans

Notre client Bauer Fondations Canada doit mesurer le niveau de la coulée de béton au fonds des pieux.
Nous avons conçu un treuil spécifiquement pour son besoin. Le treuil permet d'ajuster la force de levage à l'aide d'un variateur de fréquence. Au bout du câble se trouve une sonde qui flotte sur la surface du béton, au fur et à mesure que le béton remplit le pieux, le treuil remonte la pesée et indique sa profondeur sur l'afficheur.

Concrete Level Monitoring at Over 300 Feet – Île d’Orléans Bridge

Our client, Bauer Foundations Canada, needed to measure the level of concrete at the bottom of deep piles.
We designed a winch specifically for this application. The winch allows precise adjustment of the lifting force using a variable frequency drive (VFD). At the end of the cable, a probe floats on the surface of the concrete; as the pile is filled, the winch raises the probe and continuously displays its depth on the readout.
