Yesterday was the big day were my vision was finally corrected! ICL Implant Surgery was a lot easier than expected... now the recovery... still can only see 2 feet in front of me. Because of this I cannot do any work in the shop for the next 2 weeks... but hey! I am super stoked to (properly) see my market buds in !!!!!

It has been 6 years to this day that I started doing markets with Kris Sturgess. I miss barely breaking even, waking up at 5am, doubling up on coffees (one for the drive, one for setup) and selling wacky comic book stuff as well as my blacksmithing stuff. Markets were simple then, but friendship was best. We kept eachother sane during Covid by creating and getting out. I owe a ton of my skills to his teachings and probably would have never pursued teaching if it wasn't for me watching him everyday at the RDP Makerspace. 5 years without him... I cannot even find words to write to express how much I miss him.

Been trying to push thru some eye problems to get some stock ready for the summer (one more month and I'm free of this curse!!). I had a hard choice to make. Either raise my prices, or try to diversify. My last paint went up in price, and so did my steel. Luckily I shopped around and CAPS Red Deer hooked me up with some 2 part epoxy clear coat and this fancy toy! Now I can deliver higher quality product, for the same quality price!! It pays to shop local!
