𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞.

When driving in the closest lane to any stopped roadside vehicle with flashing lights activated, including those in construction zones:

▪ you must move over to the far lane to give workers extra space.

▪ if you cannot safely move over, you must slow to at least 60 km/h, or the posted speed limit, whichever is lower.

🚧 Construction or maintenance zones will have roadway signs in advance to warn motorists that road work is being done.

Even if there are no signs reminding motorists that fines will be doubled, your fine could be doubled if workers are present.

𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀:

✅ When approaching a construction zone, use caution and slow down.
✅ Move over to the far lane whenever possible.
✅ Always be aware that vehicles ahead of you may stop suddenly.
✅ Obey directions by flag people or emergency workers.
✅ Avoid watching construction activity and keep focused on driving.
✅ Always leave plenty of space between your vehicle and workers/equipment.

𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 - 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟮
Clearwater County remains in regular contact with the Government of Alberta and local MLA Jason Nixon as recovery efforts continue following the July 18 tornado.

We are working closely with provincial partners to support recovery activities, including debris removal and the management of downed trees in affected areas. As damage assessments continue and additional information becomes available, updates will be shared with residents.

We thank our emergency responders, partner agencies, contractors, volunteers, and residents for their ongoing efforts and patience throughout the recovery process.

𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 - 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬
Following further assessment, the July 18 tornado has been confirmed to have touched down southwest of Rocky Mountain House and travelled through the southern portion of town and surrounding rural areas. While 51 properties sustained damage and 8 homes are believed to be uninhabitable, no injuries have been reported and no residents have been displaced.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

Please be advised that due to significant shoulder failure, the Northfork Road at KM 65 will be closed for repairs July 6-31.

Detour access around will be Hwy11/SH734 (Trunk Road) or SH752/SH734. The dates are weather and contractor schedule dependent and subject to change. No notification will be sent upon reopening (unless the date is affected).

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction. Please follow all posted detour signs.

Did you know that Cow Lake Campground has a beautiful walking path through the trees that starts at the parking lot by the front gate and leads all the way to the beach? There are also a couple other exits for the trail along the way. The trail is approximately 1 km in length and is a fun way to get to the beach if you want to get a little exercise in or just to enjoy a nature walk. The walking path was created by our amazing staff members in 2025 and is a wonderful addition to enjoy while camping at or visiting the lake.
