Simbotics, Team 1114, was created in 2002-03 by a passionate group of mentors. Catharines Powertrain, these mentors were able to recruit students for Governor Simcoe Secondary School to participate in the program. In our first year of competition, we were able to obtain the Rookie All-Star award and the Creativity award in the Robotics Competition (FRC). Since then, Simbotics has continued to be a
dominant force in robotics, winning the 2008 FRC Championship, three VEX World Championships in 2006, 2007 and 2011, and currently 19 FRC regional events. Since Simbotics inception, our team has also been increasingly involved with the community, both locally and globally. Through our efforts, we have managed to achieve FIRST's highest honour, the Chairman’s award at the regional level 6 times. These efforts culminated in 2012 when we won FIRST's most prestigious award, the Championship Chairman's Award, earning us a spot in the FIRST Hall of Fame.
