"SNOW" Much Snow ❄ - Your furnace can stop functioning if its vents become dammed with ice, frost or snow. Often furnaces will shut off due to a safety mechanism built-in, if those vents do become clogged. Thankfully so because without proper ventilation, there is a risk of carbon monoxide build up which can therefore enter your home.
For optimal safety and efficiency, be sure to check your furnace vents and any gas/electric meters for any build up. Clear snow with your hands, never with a shovel or snow blower to avoid unnecessary damages.
