Cabinet Maker

Authentic Home Building & Authentic Woodworking is a construction company located in Saint John that specializes in custom cabinetry, commercial cabinetry, renovations, and new residential and commercial construction. our shop, includes an in house spray booth, CNC router, and CAD studio.

Position Details

Full time position (Monday-Friday).
Salary competitive.
Commercial and residential cabinetry.
Responsibilities

Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements of task.
Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
Cut, shape and smooth lumber and high pressure laminates according to measurements.
Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
Lay out floorings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible.
Cut and assemble pieces for furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated.
Inspect jobs and conduct repairs, maintenance, and tidying.
Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
You will need to supply your own steel-toed boots and basic hand tools.
Requirements

10 years of relatable experience.
Valid class 5 driver's license and own transportation.
Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials.
Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).
Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
Attention and willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times.
Good knowledge of English.
Good physical condition and endurance as work is physically demanding at times.
Hardworking and a self starter.
Strong communication skills.
High school diploma; Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is not required, but considered an asset.
Experience with AutoCAD or Mozaik software not required but considered an asset.
Experience with CNC router not required but considered an asset.

Cutting boards galore! Here are some of the boards we did up for clients and friends over the holiday season, although they make great gifts for any occasion! Some of the wood species we used for these unique boards are, walnut, maple, birch, paduak and mahogany. Hard to pick a favourite!
