Drone season is back, and the sky is getting busy.

For businesses looking to scale BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations in 2026, simply flying further isn’t enough—you need to fly smarter.

Here are 3 technical hurdles that stand between a pilot and a successful mission-critical scale-up:

1. Latency: In high-stakes maneuvers, even a millisecond of lag can be the difference between success and a costly incident.
2. Data Sovereignty: Protecting your telemetry and payload data is a non-negotiable for compliance. You need to know exactly where your data lives.
3. The 4G Bottleneck: Old networks can’t handle the simultaneous HD feeds and command loads required for modern BVLOS.

The Solution? 5G connectivity with InDro Controller.

Unlike 4G/LTE, 5G architecture offers ultra-low latency and localized data security, ensuring real-time control and total data sovereignty. As you ramp up your operations this season, don’t let legacy tech hold you back.

The results are in! We asked where you see the greatest impact for our VR-teleoperated humanoid robots, and the consensus is clear: safety comes first.

When an operator can put on a high-resolution headset and literally “step into” a robot to perform complex tasks from miles away, the potential to keep humans out of harm’s way is massive.

Here is how you voted:

50% Defence and Public Safety
29% Nuclear and Hazardous Energy
14% Smart Agriculture
7% Advanced Manufacturing

It’s no surprise that defence and public safety was the highest voted. In scenarios like disaster response, hazardous material handling, or explosive ordnance disposal, we need human intuition and dexterity—but we don’t want to put human lives on the line.

Coupled with the strong showing for nuclear and hazardous energy, nearly 80% of you see our technology as a tool to tackle the world’s most dangerous jobs.

Thank you to everyone who voted!

Tracks, Legs, or Wheels: Which wins the Mud Test?

There’s no perfect platform, only the right one for your soil type. Here’s the InDro breakdown for the Spring Thaw:

TRACKS: Best for deep, soft muck. They distribute weight so you don’t sink. The Risk: High suction in heavy clay can bog down even the strongest motors.
LEGS: Best for discontinuous mud (puddles/debris). They break suction easily, but they struggle if the mud is deep enough to hit their knees.
WHEELS: Best for thin mud over hard ground. High-torque vehicles can cut through the top layer to find grip where tracks might slide.

If you’re heading into the unknown, Tracks are your safest bet—provided your power specs can handle the suction.

Can a robot arm be too still?

Our engineers just shared some feedback on the PiPER Arm, and one thing stands out: stability. Whether it’s outstretched in the air or carrying a maximum load, the PiPER is remarkably steady. In fact, it’s so still, you might forget it’s even on!

Why developers love it:
- Precision Repeatability: Record a motion once, and it hits the exact mark every single time.
- Tele-Op Ready: Perfect for leader/follower systems or hazardous environment remote-op.
- Desktop Sized: All the power of an industrial arm without the massive footprint.

Experience the stability for yourself. Shop the PiPER Arm at our online store.

Think robots are just for assembly lines and sci-fi movies? Think again. This Earth Month, we’re celebrating the rise of green robotics—the unsung heroes of environmental conservation.

From the depths of our oceans to the canopy of our forests, robots are stepping in where humans can’t, helping us heal the planet more efficiently than ever before.

- Precision Reforestation: Drones are now seed-bombing deforested areas, planting thousands of trees in a single day with precision.
- Ocean Cleanup: Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are patrolling our reefs to remove invasive species and gather microplastic data without disturbing the ecosystem.
- Smart Agriculture: AI-powered weed-bots use lasers to zap invasive plants, eliminating the need for harmful chemical pesticides.
- Wildlife Monitoring: Robotic “spy” animals and silent rovers allow researchers to track endangered species without causing human-related stress.

Technology shouldn’t be the enemy of nature—it should be its greatest ally. By using green robotics, we’re scaling up conservation efforts at a speed the planet desperately needs.

Happy Earth Month! Let’s keep innovating for a cleaner, greener future.

From partnership to the palm of your hand!

In 2023, we announced our collaboration with Calian (formerly Tallysman Wireless) to bring high-precision positioning to the ROS 2 community. Today, we’re taking the next step: Calian Smart GNSS Antennas are officially LIVE on the InDro Robotics online store.

These aren’t just antennas—they are fully integrated “out-of-the-box” solutions that combine world-class receivers with Calian’s patented Accutenna® technology.

Why this matters for your fleet:

- Centimeter-Level Accuracy: Sub-2cm error rates for precise navigation (with corrections).
- Bulletproof Heading: 0.3-degree heading accuracy even in challenging environments.
- ROS 2 Ready: Plug-and-play integration using our custom-developed drivers.

Whether you’re building for agriculture, inspection, or autonomous delivery, the best in GNSS is now just a click away.
