We’re kinda busy up here. 🔧

This recent commercial installation brought together multiple outdoor condensing units and make-up-air equipment, along with carefully routed insulated piping, gas and electrical connections, custom ductwork and dedicated equipment supports.

After the downpours we’ve had over the past few days, with more wet weather in the forecast, now is a good time to make sure it’s keeping up.

Take a quick look and listen:

✅ Is the pump switching on as the water rises?
✅ Is it moving water out of the pit effectively?
✅ Is the discharge line clear and directing water away from your foundation?
✅ Is the pump making unusual noises, running constantly or failing to turn on?

If the water is getting unusually high or your sump pump doesn’t appear to be working properly, don’t wait for water to reach your basement.

Noticing water around your furnace in the middle of summer? Your furnace may not be the problem.

As your air conditioner removes heat and humidity from your home, it also produces condensation. That water should travel safely away through a condensate drain. If the drain becomes clogged, cracked or disconnected, water can back up and collect around the furnace or indoor A/C equipment.

Other possible causes include:

A dirty filter restricting airflow
A frozen evaporator coil that is beginning to thaw
A damaged drain pan
A malfunctioning condensate pump

Don’t ignore the puddle. Even a small amount of water can damage flooring, contribute to mould growth or reach nearby electrical components.

If you notice water near your furnace, turn off the cooling system and have the source investigated.
