A transformer is a major investment—and what’s happening inside matters just as much as what you can see from the outside.

JA Tech provides transformer oil processing and maintenance services, including oil degasification, regeneration, leak detection and repairs, along with internal inspections and component replacement.

16 VFDs. Seven days. One tightly coordinated shutdown.

During a 2025 project at a Saskatchewan potash mine, the JA Tech team replaced 16 existing VFDs with Mitsubishi A800 Series VFDs in just seven days as part of a scheduled four-week shutdown.

The project included removing the existing VFDs, installing retrofit kits within the MCC cells, and completing detailed system commissioning—all within a demanding project schedule.

The project was recently featured as a case study in PotashWorks 2026, highlighting the planning, technical expertise, and teamwork that went into getting the job done.

At JA Tech, support does not stop at the office door; this is one of the things that makes JA Tech different. Our leadership and support teams make the effort to stay connected with the field, not just through emails, meetings, or paperwork, but by showing up, and asking questions.

Recently, our HR Manager went back in the field to visit one of our active job sites and see firsthand the work our field teams perform every day.
