The Saskatoon Environmental Advisory Committee (SEAC) is a volunteer citizens’ committee that provides advice to Saskatoon City Council on environmental matters. SEAC consists of 11 members, including 1 Saskatoon City Councillor, 1 representative of the Saskatoon Health Region, and 9 citizens appointed by City Council. SEAC members have expertise in a wide variety of disciplines, such as ecology,

biology, geosciences, economics, sociology, engineering, and conservation, and provide diverse perspectives from non-profit, education, public sector, consulting, industry, and small business. The function of SEAC is to provide advice to Saskatoon City Council on policy matters relating to the environmental implications of City undertakings, and to identify environmental issues of potential relevance to the City. The Committee reports to City Council through the Standing Policy Committee on Environment, Utilities, and Corporate Services. We have a close working relationship with City Administration through the Environmental & Corporate Initiatives department. SEAC meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 11:30am at City Hall, with the exception of July, August, and December. In addition, SEAC members volunteer their time on sub-committees throughout the year.
