Major Subsurface Breakthrough on Site! How Satellite Data led us to the Sardab and a Buried Void.
We are excited to share the critical technological story behind our recent discovery. Advanced remote sensing and specialized sensor data have been crucial on our site. They led our teams directly to a hidden Sardab (undeground structure) and allowed us to successfully target and explore a previously Buried Void.
Satellite & Sensor: We utilized Russian SAT-M2 satellite data. The key is the sensor: an S-Band SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar). Unlike optical cameras, SAR uses radar pulses to create detailed 2D or 3D images of landscapes. S-Band wavelengths have excellent penetrating capabilities, making them ideal for monitoring soil and vegetation, but they are also uniquely sensitive to subsurface disturbances.
The Mission Impact: In this image, the S-Band SAR sensor detected very subtle, unique textural anomalies on the surface. These differences, almost invisible to the naked eye, indicated buried disturbances beneath the earth. It revealed a structural pattern, labeled here as a "Modular Complex." This was the first solid evidence of a concealed Sardab.
Transforming Data into Discovery.
This data fusion—combining global-scale S-Band SAR with local-scale subsurface scanning—was the decisive key. It pinpointed the hidden Sardab with near-perfect accuracy. With this data, we confidently performed the ثقب الفراغ المردوم (boring into the identified void). This precise, targeted thaqb allowed us to physically verify the presence and safe condition of the structure.
