Did you know that most petroleum-based candle blends and waxes are GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) Under sections 201(s) and 409 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act)?
As reported by the National Candle Association (NCA), most candle waxes exhibit predominantly the same basic burn behavior and produce virtually identical combustion byproducts in terms of composition and quantity.
It's important to note that, to date, no peer-reviewed scientific study of Petroleum-based candle blends & waxes has published data with significant proof that emissions from these candles are harmful to human health.
