Interior Marine Construction Ltd. is seeking a Tug Captain (Limited Master 60 GT or greater) to join our growing team.

We are based in Scotch Creek and operate on several interior lakes and waterways, including, but not limited to, Shuswap Lake, Nicola Lake, Kamloops Lake, Okanagan Lake, Kootenay Lake, and Cultus Lake. Experience on these and similar lakes is essential.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Ensures the vessel crew meets IMC safety standards and follows safe operating procedures
- Operational control and knowledge of tugboat in all aspects of towing barges
- Interacts closely with crew and management and manages the day-to-day operation of vessel and crew
- Communicates with shore-based team to promote efficiency and safety in the entire operation
- Perform other duties including deckhand duties, rigging, and operating heavy machinery as required.

Things are moving quickly around here!

The walls were the fast portion of the build, only taking 4 days to stand & now we have moved onto the more tedious portions of the project. Only a matter of time until our team is working out of the new shop!

Today the team is back on Shuswap Lake driving pilings for the marina expansion at Finz!

We’re working with 90’ piles on this project which means each pipe takes a little longer to set and drive, please be mindful of our crew working and give them space and a no wake zone if you’re on the water in the Blind Bay area!

Our dock expansion is underway! 🚤✨ We've increased our capacity from 78 to 108, which means more space for you to stay at our beautiful resort. 🌅🍔🍹

We can't wait to welcome more of you to enjoy the stunning views, delicious food, and all the fun activities at Shuswap Lake. 🎉

Summer is fast approaching and we all have the lake on our minds! If you are in the market for a new dock it is important to familiarize yourself with the provincial and municipal requirements as well as the provincial Best Management Practices. A new dock system is an investment and we want to help you make a well informed decision!

Below are some key points from the documents for you to have in mind:

- Does not have more than a 3m wide moorage platform.

- Does not have more than a 1.5m wide walkway.

- Has light permeable decking allowing for at least 43% open space.
** IMC is a supplier of SunWalk decking, an industry leader offering 45% open grated surface.

-Does not use construction materials containing toxic substances.
** All of our materials are curated for their environmental sustainability.

- Floats must be constructed in a manner that prevents trapping surface debris and oily residue.
* IMC’s dock design intentionally includes spacing between floatation to maintain a free flow of currents and debris. This spacing also lessens the force on the dock caused by waves for a more steady surface.

- Does not ground at low water. Remained suspended to limit disturbance to lakebed.
** IMC’s dock design includes a permanent wheel system which keeps the dock suspended at low water, lessening the impact to the lakebed. The wheel system also protects the dock’s floatation system from grounding on top of rocks and other debris.
