✔️ Making sure your sump pump is working properly

We are looking for a summer student to join our team! 🚧

The ideal candidate will be a Construction Engineering Technology student who wants hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will receive training in all aspects of operating a small construction company and be joining a team of experienced professionals.

📣 If you are a current CET student at NAIT, this may qualify for a co-op position. Contact your school to confirm eligibility! 📣

✅ Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assisting with project management
- Assisting with estimating
- Material delivery and pick-up
- Attending site meetings
- Assisting as a labourer on job sites. Includes installing weeping tile, waterproof membranes and window wells. Also includes running wheelbarrows, digging trenches, completing structural repairs, and more
- Other duties as required

🛠 The right candidate will also be:
- Safety oriented
- Efficient and tidy
- Experienced with tools
- Have previous experience with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Adaptable to a changing work environment day-to-day

📋 Requirements:
- Class 5 License
- Construction Engineering Technology (1 year minimum)
- CSTS Certification
- Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract

⭐ Considered an Asset:
- First Aid Level C
- Load Securement
- Forklift Training

It's week, which means we get to hear from one of our owners, Rachelle!

"As a woman working in construction, my advice to other women considering this career is simple: go for it. And welcome! In Alberta, women currently make up only a small percentage of onsite tradespeople - around seven percent - but the industry continues to grow and there is a huge demand for skilled workers. That means there is real opportunity for women who want to pursue a career in the trades.

As employers, it is important for us to keep in mind that women entering the construction work force do not just help address a skilled labour shortage. Women in construction are essential because of the unique and valuable skillset they bring to the industry including strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem solving, and a focus on safety and efficiency. Those qualities contribute to stronger teams and better job sites – and that is a benefit to us all."
