Allied is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor for work in St. John's.
This position is open to both experienced safety professionals and recent graduates. There is no minimum years-of-experience requirement.
Allied has been building in Newfoundland and Labrador since 1995, with a portfolio ranging from some of the largest developments in the province to interior renovations and fit-ups. We are COR certified with the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association, and we hold our employees, subcontractors, and suppliers to the same high standard.
Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Advisor will conduct site inspections and risk assessments, support site supervisors with toolbox talks and ongoing safety requirements, provide orientation to new subcontractors and ensure their documentation and standards meet regulatory and company requirements, investigate incidents and prepare reports, and assist in the continued operation of Allied's health and safety program.
Requirements:
-A degree, diploma, or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
-Working knowledge of the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
-Strong communication skills and the confidence to raise safety concerns directly with workers, supervisors, and subcontractors
-Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to active project sites
Considered an asset:
Construction safety experience at any level
NCSO, CSO, or active progress toward a professional designation
Familiarity with the NLCSA COR program
