New Agreements with Quebec Mark Major Milestone for Newfoundland and Labrador

This week's announcement marks a historic milestone for Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec and for Canada.

Together with our partners, we are helping advance the largest clean energy investment in North American history, unlocking future development on the Churchill River and creating new opportunities for generations to come.

This agreement supports the expansion of Churchill Falls, the development of Gull Island, new transmission infrastructure, and future wind energy opportunities in Labrador.

For Newfoundland and Labrador, this is about ensuring our province is positioned to realize greater value from its clean, renewable resources, creating jobs and supporting economic growth, strengthening energy security, and helping meet growing demand for clean electricity across the continent.

This is a proud moment for our province, our employees, and everyone who has helped make this possible. Learn more: https://www.abetterdealnl.ca/

Outage Update - Rocky Harbour and Norris Point (9:50 p.m.)

The backup transformer arrived in Rocky Harbour around 9 p.m. but unfortunately experienced delays along the way. Crews are now working to unload and safely install the equipment. Once that work is complete later tonight, we will begin restoring power for customers. However, with this delay in the arrival of the transformer, we are now estimating power restoration at 3 a.m.

We recognize the impact this outage has had on customers and sincerely appreciate your understanding while crews work to resolve the issues at the terminal station.
