This U Build Spotlight goes to Lucas, one of our Project Managers at U Build Construction! 👋

Lucas helps keep clients, consultants and the people doing the work connected throughout a project. From managing budgets and schedules to coordinating materials and resolving issues, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes.

As Lucas puts it, “They call us Project Managers, but I like to think of us as ‘Problem Managers.’”

With over 10 years of experience across interior construction and the exterior building envelope, Lucas understands the work from a hands-on perspective. That experience helps when working with our field teams and trade partners to find practical solutions.

Thank you, Lucas, for helping our teams move forward and putting care into the relationships behind every project.

A look at our work at Churchill Park! 🔨

U Build Construction renovated the park’s maintenance building for the City of Winnipeg, with work extending from the roof to the surrounding paths.

Our scope included masonry, roof framing and metal roofing, replacement windows and doors, and interior partitions. We also completed plumbing, HVAC and electrical upgrades, plus exterior slabs, paths and bollards.

Maintenance buildings play a practical role in caring for the public spaces our communities enjoy. We’re honoured to work with the City of Winnipeg and proud to contribute to the facilities that support that everyday work.

Thank you to our crew and trades for their efforts on this project.

U Build On Site | Concrete Pour 2 of 2

Our second and final concrete pour is complete, with an additional 450 cubic metres placed on site. It was a big day for the team, with founders Brody and Richard on site alongside the project manager and crew, helping keep everything moving smoothly.

Here are seven of our favourite shots from the day. Thanks to everyone who helped make this pour a success!

A local landmark with a continuing role in education. 🔨

Our U Build Construction team is proud to be part of the window replacement project at RRC Polytech’s Portage Campus in Portage la Prairie.

The campus is located in the former Victoria School, which was built in 1916. Today, it offers students in the Central Plains region the opportunity to pursue post-secondary education in their own community.

Our work includes fibreglass and aluminum replacement windows, along with opening preparation and related interior finishing.

It’s an opportunity we value because the work contributes to a building people rely on as they prepare for their next chapter. We’re honoured to play a part in caring for this learning space.

We’re honoured to share our new Maamawibiway site works project for Peguis Child and Family Services! 🔨

Maamawibiway means “Our Gathering Place,” a name that reflects the purpose behind this special place near Hodgson, Manitoba.

Peguis CFS supports children and families, including through family preservation and community wellness services. Maamawibiway provides space for that work to grow and for community members to come together.

U Build Group will be carrying out the site works with Everett Construction Group, our Indigenous-owned and operated construction company, leading the work.

We’re proud to contribute to this project and appreciate the responsibility that comes with it. Thank you to Peguis CFS for the opportunity to help develop a place that serves its community.

Follow along for updates from our team.
