Fueling performance goes far beyond training 💪🥗

Our Scholar-Athletes recently took part in a nutrition session with local Holistic Nutritionist Marie Young, exploring how nutrition needs to change through different seasons of sport and life.

From competition “push” seasons to off-season “patience” seasons, students learned about recovery, hydration, performance fueling, and building healthy habits that support long-term wellness.

At UNISUS, our Future Ready Program focuses on developing students holistically, and in this case, helping our athletes build the physical wellness foundations needed to thrive both in sport and in life. 🏒⛷️⚽🏎️

Yesterday, our Outdoor Education Enrichment students took the Gr. 4/5 class on an adventure to Shannon Lake to learn about BC fisheries and the important role they play in keeping our lakes healthy and full of fish. 🎣🐟

Students learned how to fish
(catch-and-release) with 5 students excitedly catching fish throughout the day!

It was such a fun experience that when it was time to leave… nobody wanted to go!

📚✨ At UNISUS, our library is so much more than a place for books. It’s the heart of our school community.

It’s where students gather for assemblies and town halls, collaborate on projects, enjoy buddy reading across grade levels, and it's also where we celebrate creativity through music recitals, art exhibitions and STEAM showcases!

It’s also a place where teachers work closely alongside students, offering guidance, encouragement, and personalized support.

This kind of connection and academic support is especially meaningful for our international students as they build confidence, language skills, and a sense of belonging within our school community.

🎉Celebration alert!!!! This season has been an incredible one for Alexa, A Scholar-Athlete in the UNISUS Hockey Academy!

🏒 Alexa played a key role in an outstanding season with the Penticton Minor Hockey Association.

🏆 Her U13 Female Rec team finished the year with 28 wins, 3 losses and 2 ties!!!

🔥 They finished 3rd in the Kamloops tournament winning the bronze, then finished 1st in their home tournament winning the gold. They finished 1st in the Chilliwack tournament where they won their league playoff tournament! Wow!

🎉Alexa had an amazing first season of hockey scoring 33 goals in 33 games and we are all SO proud of her!!

👏 What makes this even more special is her journey. In just two years in the Hockey Academy, Alexa has grown into a confident, driven athlete who truly loves the game and continues to push herself every day.

We are so proud of you, Alexa!! What an amazing season you had!!!! 🏒

🎼 The Arts play an important role in helping students build confidence, creativity, and self-expression!

🎶 At UNISUS, students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 experience music as part of their regular school week. In Grades 6–10, they take it further by learning three different instruments each year in the music program!

For those who want to go deeper into an area such as music, there are many opportunities to do so.

Students can join the school band or school play, they can take one-on-one piano or guitar lessons throughout the week, or they can choose Music Enrichment through Academics+, where they spend three afternoons each week focused on music.

Music enrichment choices have included classes such as rock band, songwriting and recording, musical theory and composition, and more.

✨The arts, and all of the enrichments we offer, are essential to a well-rounded education.

From the Snowsports Academy at UNISUS School to the International Stage in Japan!!!⛷️

Nicolas joined us this academic year for a short-term Grade 9 experience from Germany and trained as part of our Snowsports Academy. Just weeks later, he was representing Team Canada at the Japan Cup 2026!!

And he didn’t just compete… he podiumed. 🥈

Facing challenging conditions and racing against top international athletes, Nicolas earned 2nd place in the Giant Slalom, an incredible achievement and a moment he’ll never forget.

We are so proud to see students take their passions beyond the classroom and onto the world stage. This is what Academics+ is all about.

Way to go, Nicolas. We can’t wait to see what’s next!!!
