BC has paused the planned PST expansion on architectural, engineering, geoscience, non-residential real estate and security services. The deferral is indefinite, but the legislation remains in place.

That means the pause changes today’s invoice, not the discipline required to protect your project. If reinstated, the legislated rule for architectural, engineering and geoscience services is 7% PST on 30% of fees, approximately a 2.1% effective rate.
