Via Surrey Community Cat Coalition

Our trapper Anne was called by an animal control officer for advice about a site where a kitten had fallen into a storm drain pipe. They had contacted Papa Plumbing, Heating & Drainage to come and snake camera the pipe to locate the kitten. They were initially trying to flush a little water through the pipe to get the kitten to run towards where one of the animal control officers was standing by with a net.

It wasn't far from where our trapper Mona lived, so she went to see if she could help. Mona and another animal control officer went to the hole where the kitten originally fell in. Mona meowed her famous meow and the kitten responded. The officer got his catchpole positioned, dropped a little food down the hole, and with a little encouragement from more meowing, the kitten came into view, and he was able to grab it with the catchpole and pull it to safety. It was an awesome team effort!

A trap has been set for mama and the other kittens. A resident is monitoring the trap and will call us when the fur family is caught, and then it will be a happy reunion with the kitten who was rescued today.
