Our team was privileged to partner with and to bring Netflix’s new animation studio in Mount Pleasant to life, and it’s been one of the biggest highlights of our story so far.

A massive 110,000SF space with intricate details, a 5-storey interconnected staircase, a lot of changes and problem-solving on the fly, and a very tight schedule didn’t get in our way.

Not only did we deliver the project on time, but we did it through a deeply relational and partnership approach with Dialog, Colliers, the rest of the consultant team, and our trade partners. None of it would have been possible without everyone’s full commitment and buy-in, problem solving, and knocking down barriers. It’s one thing to get to the end of a project like this and be proud of what you’ve built, but it’s even more rewarding when your relationships and bonds are stronger than they were at the start.

We’re incredibly proud of our team and partners for all that they invested in this project to make it a success, the future is bright for our team and each one of you!

Women make up nearly half of Canada’s workforce. In construction, that number is around 13%.

On-site? It drops to 5%.

At Novacom, we don’t see Women in Construction Week as a moment for applause — we see it as a reminder that the work isn’t done. As a part woman-owned company, this isn’t a campaign for us. It’s personal. It’s built into how we lead, who we hire, and the standard we hold ourselves to every day.

The women on our team aren’t here to fill a quota. They’re here because they’re among the best at what they do — leading projects, solving problems, and building the kind of work we stake our name on.

Canada’s construction industry is projected to need over 350,000 new workers in the next decade. Meanwhile, women hold just 5% of on-site trade roles. Those two facts belong in the same conversation.

This week, we’re proud to stand with the women shaping this industry from the field to the boardroom. But pride without action is just noise. Here’s what we’re committed to:

This past Sunday, April 27th, members of our Novacom project team were honoured to attend the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Or Shalom Synagogue addition and renovation in Vancouver.

In the wake of the devastating events that took place at the Lapu-Lapu Day celebration just the day before, this gathering served as a poignant reminder of the resilience, strength, and connectedness that communities offer during difficult times.

We are deeply grateful to the Or Shalom community for welcoming us with such open arms and for sharing this meaningful milestone with us. It is a privilege to be part of bringing your new space to life — a place that will continue to foster belonging, learning, and community for years to come.

We would also like to acknowledge Erika Gerson from Boni Maddison Architects for her presence and support at the event. We look forward to collaborating closely with the entire project team as we move forward together.

At Novacom, one of our core pillars is “Transforming Communities”. We believe our work has a greater purpose beyond profit—driven by a desire to uplift and support the people and places we build for. This commitment is reflected in both our local and global initiatives.

A recent example is our ongoing partnership with , where Novacom is currently delivering a structural steel rooftop addition that will provide three new classrooms, washrooms, learning commons, and flexible meeting spaces. In parallel, we were also a sponsor of the school’s 75th Anniversary Gala, helping raise funds to furnish this very space and enhance its educational impact. Our CEO attended the event on behalf of the company, underscoring our belief in showing up for the communities we serve.
