Posts in social media might leave you to believe that the process of separating the trichomes from the plant is complicated. It’s not. Honestly, you could just shake the plant over a cloth and the trichomes will fall when mature, but if you want to make a slightly cleaner end product you can wash the plant material, either fresh from the field or dried/cured. (You can also dry sift. There are videos on YouTube that demonstrate this. If interested, look for simple ’static tech’ examples.)
Frenchy wrote a 10-page article in Green Leaf magazine that describes the process step-by-step. Available in PDF at www.frenchycannoli.com/articles.
Also, he made a series of DIY videos to show the process. They are available with subtitles in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Arabic at www.frenchycannoli.com/diy
Check out the 2 hour video labeled “Anderson Valley” for a real time demonstration that you could “wash along” with to learn the steps.
