🏗️ The Ontario government is investing in two projects that will provide free training in the construction sector to 645 people in Northern Ontario. The investment is worth over 1 million dollars.

This investment plan will train participants for jobs in demand in the construction sector. Heavy equipment operators and electrical/mechanical trades will benefit from this endeavour. Check out this interesting article by clicking on the link.

⛪The construction of the basilica began in 1882, more than 130 years later it remains unfinished. Its completion date was recently scheduled for 2026. When it is finally finished this work will have lasted only a few decades less than that of the Great Wall of China. This architectural work in its unfinished state is a pleasure to contemplate.

“The Senate of Canada Building received top honours in the Government Buildings category. Diamond Schmitt transformed one of Ottawa’s most important cultural and historic landmarks, the former Union train station, into a home for the Senate of Canada.” This challenging project restructured the historic Beaux Arts train station in a modern and safe building.

🧯🔥This year, October 3rd to 9th is Fire Prevention Week. The Governor General of Canada proclaimed the first Fire Prevention Week in 1923.

Our Van Horne team cares about your well being and we want to share some useful recommendations:

✔️Install smoke detectors
✔️Install fire extinguishers
✔️Design an evacuation plan in case of fire
✔️Install carbon monoxide detector
✔️Throw cigarette butts into metal containers

🏫The Sharp Centre for Design is an iconic building in Toronto. It was created in 2004 as a result of the collaboration of British architect Will Alsop and Canadian Rob Robbie.

This modern building is made up of residential units and office space for Toronto’s Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) and it represents the current urban architectural design trends in Canada.
