There's a way to get a brand new energy management information system (EMIS) installed at your facility this winter for $0.

Not a discount. Not financing. $0.

Two Ontario programs are open at the same time right now, and between them they cover the whole thing. Only one of the two runs every year, which is why this window won't repeat next winter.

Eric Asagba, CEM and Chris Bradey, CEM break down exactly how it works on August 18 at 11 AM.

🟡 Edgecom Energy's Weekly IESO Peak Watch | Week of Aug 1 to 7

Temperatures are climbing this week, so keep an eye on your usage. Heat drives demand, and that's exactly when peaks like to sneak up on you.

Chris Bradey's back with the rundown, same as every Saturday morning.

Stay alert into the week after too. Once we've got more data, we'll be back next weekend.

Join us in welcoming the newest addition to our tech team!

Volkan has 3.5 years of experience building scalable systems across energy, wireless, and cloud platforms. But what drew him here was simpler: the energy industry moves fast, and he wants a front-row seat to the innovation happening right now.

Outside of work, you'll find him cooking up something fancy or watching football. Glad to have you on the team!

Barely a month left before the number that sets your 2027 energy bill gets locked in.

Most manufacturers won't touch it, because nobody has explained to them that it's happening.

Tomorrow, 2 PM ET: Tanner Behrend and Dylan Calvert break down The 5 Costliest Energy Mistakes Manufacturers Will Make Between Now and August 31, and what those mistakes will cost them next year. Then they show the equipment-level data that turns guessing into a plan.

If your facility runs 1MW or more, this hour is worth $40,000 to $80,000 a year. More if you're bigger.

🟡 Edgecom Energy's Weekly IESO Peak Watch | Week of July 25 to 31

Not much moving on the Ontario grid this week. Demand's been steady; no peak signals worth flagging this coming week. Some weeks that's the whole story, and that's fine.

Chris Bradey's back with the rundown, same as every Saturday morning. Keep an eye out at the beginning of August, and we will have more updates for you next week!

In PJM, a handful of peak hours each summer quietly set your capacity charges for the whole year. Most facility managers can't tell you when they hit.

That's not a knowledge gap. It's a visibility gap. And it shows up on the bill.

We built a 3-minute quiz to show you where you stand. Seven yes or no questions, no wrong answers.

You'll get your Energy Champion level (one of eight), a 3-step action plan built around your specific gaps, and a check on whether your site qualifies for up to $10,000 in project visibility funding.

Finish it, and you're in the draw for a PS5. Not a bad return on 3 minutes.

Link's in the comments. Go find your Champion level.

Tanner Behrend, CEM and Dylan Calvert, CET were at Aspen Ideas: Climate in Chicago this week!

The conversation that came up in session after session: AI and advanced manufacturing are driving the fastest growth in electricity demand in decades, and most regions don't have a clean plan for where that power should come from.

We're already on the ground in PJM, working deals in the same footprint as a lot of the utilities in that room. In rooms like this, it's clearer than ever what we tell facilities matches what the people running the grid are planning for!

Ontario Peak Watch | Week of July 18 | Peak risk: Low 🟡

Wildfire smoke hung over most of the province this week. Air quality alerts, people sealing up buildings, AC running harder than usual.

That normally pushes cooling demand up and drags a peak along with it. For this coming week, that is not going to be the case. Ontario demand climbed but stayed short of anything worth scrambling on.

That's the part worth paying attention to. Knowing when a peak isn't coming matters as much as calling one that is. Nobody wants to curtail production for a peak that never shows.

The week after the next is the one to watch. Early numbers are starting to move, and you know Chris will have the full breakdown once they firm up! Tune back in next week.

Masoud Bashari, Saeid Esmaeili, and Rahim Ghaorani will be at the IEEE PES General Meeting from July 19 to 23. They know what they are talking about, and we promise you'll walk away buzzing with ideas.

If you have ever looked at our work and wondered who sits behind the market calls, the coincident peak forecasts, and the price signals that decide when the facilities move their load, it is these three. Ontario, Alberta, PJM. They live in those markets daily. Ask them something hard about IESO Global Adjustment, AESO pool prices, or capacity market participation and watch what happens.

This year's meeting is about the grid under real pressure. AI, data center load growth, and how power systems and markets keep up. That is the problem we work on every single day.

If you are going to be there and you read these markets as closely as we do, go talk to these geniuses.
