🚨 WINTER SAFETY REMINDER FOR ALL HOMEOWNERS 🚨
With heavy snowfall across the GTA, it’s critical to regularly check and clear snow and ice from your furnace intake and exhaust vents (typically the white PVC pipes on the side of your home).
❄️ Why this matters:
A blocked exhaust or intake can cause your furnace to shut down unexpectedly
It can trigger error codes, short cycling, or lockouts
In severe cases, it can lead to carbon monoxide backup, which is a serious safety hazard
Many no-heat calls in winter are caused by simple snow blockage that’s completely preventable
🔍 What you should do:
Clear all snow, ice, and frost from around the vent pipes
Maintain at least 12–18 inches of clearance around the intake and exhaust
Recheck after every major snowfall or drifting winds
Make sure vents are not buried, crushed, or capped with ice
⚠️ Important:
Never chip ice aggressively or modify vent piping yourself—this can cause damage or improper venting.
📞 Call to Action
