The 63rd year of our Detroit Customer Concrete Technology Course is complete! This tradition continues as VCNA/St Marys Detroit invites customers to send their new employees for the experience. The long-standing tradition occurs over two consecutive weeks, with two sessions of three successive days. This year involved 50 participants representing almost 20 different customers. Participants learned the fundamentals of cementitious materials, aggregates and concrete, and how they all come together to meet specification requirements. The combined classroom and laboratory format provided an opportunity to learn about the materials and get hands-on experience. A final exam with a Certificate of Completion is presented to each participant on the last day. The best part is a celebration banquet on the last evening of the course where we get to spend some "quality" time with our customers as we wish them a long and prosperous career in the business! Special thanks to our employees, Chris Kennedy, Shawn Kalyn, Chad Richard, and Kelli Balazsi, and to our guest speakers, Stan Radabaugh (Kuhlman Corp) and Dave Hollingsworth (Premiere Admixtures) for their time and dedication.
