We’re pleased to support The Outland Youth Employment Program (OYEP) in Ignace, Ontario this year as they support Indigenous youth explore new and exciting career pathways.

Outland Youth Employment Program is a national network of land-based education, training and work opportunities for high school aged Indigenous Youth. The 6-week work integrated learning experience provides training and education in a supportive space that replicates various natural resource work environments.

As part of the program, youth will build practical skills in trades, construction, forestry, energy, and environmental science, while also learning from traditional teachings about land, stewardship, and community – bringing together two ways of learning and understanding the world: Indigenous knowledge and Western science.

This week we were pleased to take part in the Assembly of First Nations/Assemblee des premieres Nations' Nuclear Waste Management Forum held in Ottawa.

Our staff had the opportunity to lead sessions on safety, transportation, and the planning of a second deep geological repository for intermediate- and high-level radioactive waste.

We look forward to continuing this important dialogue in partnership with First Nations as we work together toward a responsible and inclusive path for nuclear waste management.

Our research partnerships with Canadian universities are key to advancing our work to safely contain and isolate used nuclear fuel over the long term.

We participate in UNENE, the University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering, which strengthens nuclear education, research and development across the country.

Our experts also directly support students through mentoring, serving on PhD thesis committees, and sharing their knowledge. These collaborations help advance science and protect people and the environment.

Canada is a world leader in producing life-saving nuclear medicine.

Our team was thrilled to be able to tour Laurentis Energy Partners’ isotope irradiation system, otherwise known as the Target Delivery System, at Ontario Power Generation's Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.

As part of our mandate, we’re planning for a second deep geological repository to support the long-term management of intermediate and non-fuel high-level nuclear waste, including waste from medical isotope production.

We were pleased to take part in EcoSuperior’s Spring Up to Clean Up campaign.

Some of our local staff were at Thunder Bay Marina where they helped clean up the shoreline. Efforts like these highlight the importance of caring for our environment today and for future generations.
