Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to pause. 🌿

Last week, the RED Studio team stepped away from the office for a day of learning, connection and reconnection at Crawford Lake.

From an inspiring talk to exploring the longhouses and walking the beautiful new boardwalk, the experience reminded us of the value of looking beyond our everyday surroundings.

A big thank you to Conservation Halton and Leeanne Doxtator for sharing their knowledge and guiding us through the park.

As designers, we spend so much time thinking about how we shape the spaces around us. Moments like these remind us that we also have so much to learn from the places, people, history and craftsmanship that shape us.

Sometimes, inspiration begins simply by slowing down, stepping outside and seeing things a little differently.

Designing for wellbeing extends beyond the buildings we create. It includes the landscapes, watersheds, and communities that sustain us.

We were proud to sponsor this year's BLUE Gala in support of Conservation Halton Foundation. An evening dedicated to protecting our natural environment and inspiring future generations through water education and outdoor learning. The annual fundraiser brings together community leaders, partners, and supporters to invest in a greener, more resilient watershed.

As wellness architects, we believe the connection between people and nature is fundamental to healthy communities. Supporting organizations that protect our shared landscapes aligns with our commitment to designing environments that respect both human and environmental wellbeing.

We are deeply honoured to have been named Building Partner of the Year by The at their Evening of Gratitude 2026! 🏆💚

For over two decades, it's been the privilege of a lifetime to be part of this Home's story. When we began this journey back in 1999, we couldn't have imagined it would span decades and multiple expansions — but that's exactly what happened. We designed Phase 1, which opened in 2004, returned in 2009 to bring the original vision further to life, and we're now proud to be completing the current expansion this year.

Designing a facility that combines the medical infrastructure of a small hospital with the warmth, comfort, and tranquility of a true home — all nested across 77 acres of woodlands — has been one of our team's most meaningful challenges. It's exactly why we live by the philosophy of "Exploring the Art of the Possible."

Every barrier-free design choice, every detail meant to bring peace and comfort to the children who walk through those bright RED doors, was created with intention and love.

Thank you to The Darling Home for Kids for trusting us with this work and for this incredible honour. Here's to many more years of building spaces that truly feel like home. 🙏

Ex*****on looks a little different in Northern Ontario. 🚧🌲

When the meeting room becomes the job site and the backdrop is endless rock, trees, and sky, you know you're in for a good day.

This week, the teams from .Next, Zgemi, and Red Studio traded desks for hard hats as we headed north to see progress firsthand, solve challenges in real time, and keep the momentum moving forward.

One of the best parts of being on site? The collaboration. The conversations that happen between drawings and reality. The shared commitment to getting the details right. And, of course, the occasional debate about whose boots are putting in the most work.

Projects aren't built by one team—they're built through partnerships.

Grateful to be working alongside great people, tackling big ideas, and bringing this project to life together.

This month, we're stepping behind the drawings and onto the job site to explore what it takes to bring architecture to life. From site reviews and contractor coordination to material mock-ups and problem-solving in real time, Ex*****on celebrates the people, processes, and partnerships that transform vision into reality.

As wellness architects, we know that the success of a project isn't determined solely by design intent. It depends on thoughtful ex*****on—how details are resolved, how teams collaborate, and how decisions made during construction ultimately shape the experience of a space.

Known for its pioneering use of plastics, Kartell continues to push boundaries through transparency, colour, and form. This year’s presentation felt fluid and dynamic. Objects shifting between furniture and art, surfaces catching and reflecting light in unexpected ways.
