A showcase of precision engineering and acoustic excellence designed for the world’s most discerning artists. For PSII collaborating with Universal Music Canada’s visionary team to realize these spaces was an absolute pleasure. Each element of this facility has been thoughtfully curated to support the highest levels of creative and technical excellence.
Studio 1 – The Flagship: Features an Atmos-certified control room equipped with PMC and JBL monitoring systems and a Solid State Logic console. The comprehensive design includes a dedicated live room, isolation booth, and backline storage for maximum recording flexibility.
Studio 2 – Production Excellence: A versatile medium-format production suite with separate live room capabilities. The central machine room provides robust technical infrastructure supporting both analog and digital workflows seamlessly.
Studio 3 – Adaptive Creative Space: Designed as a dedicated composition and writing room, this space offers the flexibility to function as additional isolation when needed, with direct visual connection to Studio 1’s control room.
The facility’s advanced infrastructure includes patchable tie-lines to The Academy, the main floor event studio, enabling sophisticated live streaming production capabilities directly from the control rooms. The event studio doubles as an expansive live room for large-scale recording sessions.
Operating as a self-contained creative environment, 80A Studios features its own dedicated entrance from the second floor of UMC headquarters. Complete with private washroom, kitchen, and lounge facilities, the space provides an artistic sanctuary for focused creative work.
