One of the most common reactions that we encounter when clients call about a mould problem is panic. Mould is a concern that can quickly become blown out of proportion and unfortunately, this is the operating procedure for some mould remediation companies. ar too often, people are led to believe that a mould problem means that the roof has to be replaced, or that the basement needs to be gutted. Essentially, the customer immediately assumes that a massive amount of money needs to be spent. We’re here to say that a mould problem is not the end of the world and in fact, quite often, it is an issue that can be solved without major renovations. Removing mould-contaminated material is good, but the real issue is: what is the source of the moisture that is allowing the mould to grow? This is the reason that we tell our clients that mould growth is a symptom of a larger problem. Treating a symptom will not solve the root problem.
