Experience a home designed to live with art.
On May 23, join us for ‘DesignTO Tours: Montague House’, an exclusive guided tour of a thoughtfully renovated and expanded residence in Toronto’s Wychwood Park neighbourhood.
Originally built in 1919 by Eden Smith, the home was reimagined by Studio for Contemporary Architecture to accommodate contemporary living while creating a setting for an extensive collection of art, objects, and books. The project balances restoration with new interventions, offering a series of spaces that frame and reveal the collection.
The home includes works from the Wedge Collection, an internationally recognized private collection committed to championing Black artists. Through both architecture and curation, the space reflects a broader exploration of identity, culture, and storytelling.
The tour will be led by the homeowners, architect Tura Cousins Wilson, and DesignTO Artistic Director Deborah Wang, offering guests the opportunity to hear directly from those behind the project.
Tickets support DesignTO’s fundraising efforts as a charitable arts organization. Attendees will receive a charitable tax receipt for the allowable portion of the ticket, a complimentary gift from sensory partner Aesop, and architects may request a certificate for continuing education hours.
Space is limited.
