Quick question: how clean is the air inside your home?

Most people assume indoor air is cleaner than what's outside. It's usually the opposite. Indoor air can hold 2 to 5 times more pollutants than outdoor air, including:

🔥 The Heat Is Coming… Don’t Let This Happen to You! ❄️🥵

A major warm-up is on the way this week, with feels-like temperatures expected to climb above 30°C across parts of Ontario.

That first big heat wave of the season is when many homeowners discover their AC isn’t ready.

If you notice weak airflow, warm air from your vents, or ice buildup around your AC system, there may be a frozen coil.

Before booking a service call:

✔️ Check your thermostat is set to COOL
✔️ Replace your furnace filter if it’s dirty
✔️ Check breakers and outdoor switch
✔️ Make sure the outdoor unit is running
✔️ Turn the system OFF and let it thaw completely before restarting

Turned on your AC for the first time this spring and noticed a weird smell? 👃

Here’s what it might mean:

🔹 Musty/mouldy: likely mould or mildew in the system or ductwork. Common after sitting idle all winter.
🔹 Burning dust: usually just dust burning off. Normal for the first run, but shouldn’t last more than a few minutes.
🔹 Rotten egg: could indicate a natural gas leak. Turn off your system and call your gas company immediately.
🔹 Chemical/sweet: possible refrigerant leak. Best to have a technician take a look.

If something smells off, don’t ignore it.
Shut it down and get it checked. It’s always better to be safe than stuck without cooling when you need it most.
