😂 WHAT REALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU HIRE SVITA SOLUTIONS?
They say renovations are stressful. You need a drywall guy, a flooring guy, a painter, a handyman, a designer, a cleaning crew… and then probably a therapist to help you recover from dealing with all of them. 😂 At Svita Solutions, we decided our clients should stay mentally healthy. Drywall? We’ve got it. Flooring? Done. Painting? Absolutely. Design? Yep. Cleaning? Of course. The client asks, “So what am I supposed to do?” Go on vacation. You’re distracting us. 😂
And honestly, that’s barely a joke. We love when our clients leave us the keys and go away for the weekend. We take care of the colours, materials, repairs, painting, flooring, finishing details and cleanup. You come home, open the door and say, “OH MY GOD! I LOVE MY HOUSE AGAIN!” And we’re standing there thinking, “Yep. The plan worked. They’re in love again.” 😂❤️
Now, let’s talk about design. I ask a client, “What colour would you like?” “White.” And I look at them the way a doctor would look at a patient after asking, “What’s your blood type?” and hearing, “Red.” 😂 WHITE IS NOT AN ANSWER! Warm white, cool white, undertones, flooring, cabinets, natural light… Ten minutes later the client says, “I just wanted a white wall.” Exactly. This is why you leave the design part to us. 😂
We’re also a little obsessed with keeping things clean. Before we start, we protect the floors, furniture, kitchen and basically anything that isn’t supposed to become part of the renovation. If the client stands still for too long, we may cover them too. Please don’t move. You’re officially in the renovation zone. 😂 And when we finish, we actually clean. To us, a renovation isn’t finished when the last wall is painted. It’s finished when you walk into your home and there’s nothing left for you to do except take pictures and send them to your friends.
Then we have our favourite category of phone call: “We have an Open House on Saturday.” The phone rings on Wednesday. “Hi, Svita! We just need a little refresh… Our Open House is Saturday.” 😳 Of course. A LITTLE REFRESH. By 8 p.m. we’re already walking through the house. Drywall, cracks, caulking, trim, painting, cleaning… A normal company might say, “Our next availability is in three weeks.” Svita Solutions says, “Oleh, set the alarm for 6 a.m.” 😂
At 7 a.m. the next morning, we’re at the door. Remember Ghostbusters? That’s basically us, renovation edition. 😂 The van opens: rollers, paint, drywall compound, drop cloths, caulking guns… and Oleh. 😂 One person is patching, another is sanding, someone is painting, someone is working on trim, someone is cleaning. The client asks, “Do you need anything from me?” “Yes. Don’t worry. We’re already worrying for everybody.”
By Friday evening, the house is fresh, clean and ready. On Saturday, potential buyers walk in and say, “Wow! This house feels amazing!” And nobody has any idea that 48 hours earlier, the Ghostbusters were running through the house with paint rollers. 😂
