If you have an issue with an existing direct vent or power vent for your oil appliance, or simply need a chimney, we can supply and install chimneys ideally suited for oil burners. We offer a full range of sizing in stainless steel liners for wood or oil, and have the equipment required to remove existing cracked or damaged clay liners in masonry chimneys should this be required. You may be uncertain what the relevance of the EPA rating is on new heating appliances. The Environmental Protection Agency of the USA is a body dedicated to establishing emissions levels in heating appliances that meet certain environmental standards. We in Canada, and particularly in Nova Scotia, have adopted these standards as well. In fact, several years ago, it became law in Nova Scotia that no new wood heating appliance could be sold without an EPA certification. This has resulted in reduced hydrocarbon emissions, as well as wood stoves that burn 30-40% less wood while producing similar levels of heat. If your existing brick or stone chimney is showing signs of deterioration, we offer re-pointing services. This involves grinding mortar joints with diamond wheel grinders, and replacing the outer 3/4 of an inch (+ -) with new mortar. This greatly extends the useful life of a chimney. We also replace damaged brick as required, and offer custom stainless steel and copper chimney caps to enhance and protect your chimney. Should your chimney prove upon inspection to have deteriorated beyond repair, we also offer certified bricklaying services to replace or build new complete chimneys. We are WETT certified, providing professionalism that is second to none.
