Save this post so you know exactly when to lock in, learn lots, and make the most of the weekend 💻📊

A few important reminders before the event:

- Participants have been approved on Luma; if you did not receive an approval, you are currently on the waitlist.

- An info email has been sent out with the Discord server link that is mandatory to join, so please check your inbox. If you have any questions or issues, feel free to contact [email protected]

- Please also remember that teams of 4 must be formed!

🤖 March 28, 2 PM — Intro to Machine Learning

Whether you’re new to data or just want a refresher, these workshops are a great way to get ready for DataFest and meet other participants along the way.

🎨💻 Build your own personality quiz with WiDSxFigma@UBC

We’re so excited to announce our upcoming collab with Figma@UBC 💜

Join us for a beginner-friendly event where you’ll work in teams to design and build your own personality quiz!

We’ll kick things off with two workshops to help you get started, including a 30-minute Figma workshop focused on designing your own quiz interface and bringing your ideas to life. After that, teams will have time to build out their projects and get creative with their quiz concepts.

At the end of the event, participants will be able to explore each team’s project and vote for their favourites 👀✨

🏆 Winning teams will receive fun prizes
🍪 All participants will get free snacks and goodies
👔 All participants will get figma swag

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so be sure to sign up early!

Join WiDS@UBC for our RUNalytics on Saturday, March 1st at 10am, starting at Loafe Cafe (Alumni Centre location)! ☀️🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️

This is a rain or shine 5km run, and all skill levels are welcome, whether you’re a Locked In Lapper or just an Aura Athlete there for the vibes 😌💪 We’ll start and end the our circular run trail at Loafe Cafe (Alumni Centre location) to hang out + refuel! 🍵😋 Runners will get a 15% discount when purchasing a drink and food item @ Loafe!
