Last week, the Kindred team hit the fairways (and occasionally the trees) at Morgan Creek Golf Course for our annual Site Super Social Golf Tournament.

The plan was for a relaxed day of friendly competition. Instead, it quickly turned into a highly competitive, and very entertaining tournament. Even with wet conditions for the first half of the day, spirits stayed high and no one let the weather get in the way of a great round.

This event is one we look forward to every summer as it’s a chance to connect with new teammates, catch up with familiar faces, and spend a day together outside the job site.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it another fantastic tournament, and congratulations to this year’s winning team!

The satisfaction of witnessing the tangible results of Kindred’s project teams’ hard work, combined with the fulfillment of helping deliver projects from preconstruction through to completion, is among the aspects Danny Emerson, Project Director, values most about his role at Kindred Construction and his career in the construction industry.

Over the past 18 years, Danny has grown alongside Kindred, beginning as a Project Coordinator and advancing to Project Director. He credits much of his professional growth to the mentorship and guidance he received from the Reid family, along with the many colleagues and leaders he has had the opportunity to learn from throughout his career. Their support has shaped his approach to navigating challenges, building strong relationships, and leading project teams with confidence.

As Project Director, Danny oversees strategic planning, budgeting, stakeholder management, and team leadership, helping guide projects from planning through ex*****on. He especially enjoys bringing together diverse teams and working collaboratively with clients, consultants, and trade partners to deliver successful projects.

Outside of work, Danny is an avid sports fan who enjoys playing hockey and golf, travelling, attending live sporting events, and spending time at concerts and outdoor music festivals.

We’re proud to celebrate Danny’s 18 years with Kindred and the leadership, expertise, and commitment he continues to bring to our projects and teams.

We are proud to announce that Kindred’s own Shelby Clerihue and Zac Bailey have both been nominated for the 40 Under 40 Industrial Leaders Awards presented by SiteNews, recognizing professionals under 40 who are making a meaningful impact in the construction industry.

As Director of People & Culture, Shelby has helped shape the culture that defines Kindred today. Through her leadership at Kindred and as Vice President of Canadian Construction Women she champions leadership development, mentorship, and greater opportunities for women in construction, creating a lasting impact across both our team and the broader industry.

As Senior Project Manager, Zac has earned a reputation for delivering complex projects with exceptional precision, professionalism, and attention to detail. His technical expertise, proactive approach to problem-solving, and collaborative leadership have made him one of Kindred’s most trusted project leaders and a respected partner to clients, consultants, and trade partners.

Congratulations, Shelby and Zac, on this well-deserved recognition! If you’ve had the pleasure of working with either of them, we’d love your support. Share a testimonial through the links in our bio to help recognize their contributions to the industry.

It’s always rewarding to revisit projects after completion and see the impact they’ve had on the community. Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to celebrate the official Grand Opening of McHardy Housing Co-op.

The Kindred team joined the Community Land Trust (CLT), funding partners, project consultants, and new co-op members to mark the completion of 102 new co-op homes in East Vancouver.

5085 McHardy was made possible through the collaboration and dedication of many partners working toward a shared vision. It was meaningful to reconnect with the project team and reflect on what was achieved together.

We’re proud to have been part of this project and to return for such an important milestone. Seeing the completed building and the community that is beginning to form around it was a great reminder of the lasting impact these projects can have.

We’re proud to share that SOTO on W28 has been recognized at the 2026 Georgie Awards, receiving the award for Best Multi-Family Low-Rise Development (up to 6 storeys.)

This achievement reflects the dedication, collaboration, and expertise of everyone involved in bringing this project to life. Thank you to our client, consultants, trade partners, and project team for their contributions every step of the way.

It was an inspiring evening for the Kindred team to attend the Awards Gala and celebrate the exceptional projects and professionals shaping the future of homebuilding across B.C.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and finalists.

The Kindred Construction booth was once again buzzing at last week’s ICBA 2026 Meet the Generals event. It was a great opportunity to connect with industry leaders, partners, and peers who continue to help shape the future of construction across Vancouver and beyond.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with the team. Events like this are always a great reminder of the strength and collaboration within our community.

Last week, industry leaders from across the real estate, planning, and development sectors gathered at the 2026 Cascadia Regional Conference, hosted by ULI BC’s Young Leaders Group, to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping urban development across the region.

Kenny Dempsey, Project Director at Kindred Construction, joined a panel exploring how modern methods of construction, including mass timber, prefabrication, and modular design, are reshaping how projects are planned and delivered across B.C.

The conversation examined the strategic thinking behind when these construction methods make sense, the level of coordination required between design and construction teams, and the importance of industry leadership in driving innovation and challenging traditional delivery models.

It was a valuable discussion on where the industry is headed and the role collaboration and innovation will play in shaping the future of construction.
