This time we installed a high-efficiency ductless heat pump system for a client.

The finished result looks exceptionally clean and professional.

👉 The indoor unit is discreetly mounted, keeping the wall neat and unobtrusive.
The outdoor unit's wiring and piping are organized and tidy, with no clutter.

The overall look, both indoors and outdoors, is visually pleasing—achieving a great balance between performance and home aesthetics.

In recent years, Vancouver's weather has become increasingly noticeable:

🌡️ Summers are getting hotter.
🌧️ Winters are becoming colder and wetter.

Why are so many people switching to heat pumps? 👇

✅ Heating and cooling in one system
Cooling in the summer, heating in the winter—one unit provides year-round comfort.

✅ Lower energy costs
Compared with traditional electric heating, heat pumps can offer significant energy savings. 💰

✅ Better appearance
Installations are designed to minimize exposed components, creating a cleaner overall look.

✅ Quieter operation
Units are positioned away from sleeping and living areas whenever possible, minimizing disruption to daily life.

✅ Suitable for many property types
A great upgrade for detached homes, townhouses, and rental properties.

There are also heat pump rebates currently available.

Many customers are taking advantage of the rebate period to upgrade their systems early. 👌

If you're thinking about upgrading your home's heating and cooling system, feel free to contact AireEnergy. 🙌

Completed a tankless water heater installation in Vancouver today 🏡
The original traditional water heater had been in use for many years—low efficiency, loud operation, and it took up most of the mechanical room, making maintenance and inspections inconvenient 😅

After switching to a tankless water heater, the space was instantly opened up ✨
The piping was reorganized, and the entire mechanical room now looks clean and well-arranged 🔧
Once system commissioning was completed, the unit runs smoothly and stably, delivering hot water much faster than the old system 🔥

💡 A tankless water heater is ideal if:
✖️ Your mechanical room has limited space and you want to free up floor area
✖️ Your old tank-style heater is inefficient and noisy
✖️ You want a clean system that’s easy to maintain

AireEnergy has long served Vancouver with tankless water heaters, boilers, heat pumps, furnaces, and other HVAC projects. We have extensive experience in older home upgrades and mechanical room retrofits 💪

If your mechanical room is tight on space, send us a few photos 📸 and we can help assess whether a tankless water heater is right for your home 👍

A lot of people think: “If the water heater still makes hot water, there’s no need to replace it yet.”
❌ Big mistake!

This water heater we replaced today looked like it was “still working” on the surface,
but it actually had serious problems already 👇

🚨 Rust-colored water leaking from the outer shell
🚨 Water seepage marks at the bottom
🚨 The customer also said the hot water had become more and more unstable — sometimes it would suddenly turn cold halfway through a shower…

At this stage, it’s basically a “ticking time bomb” 💣

If it suddenly bursts, it’s not just a small leak —
💸 Floors can get soaked and damaged
💸 Walls and cabinets can grow mold or warp
💸 It can even affect the unit downstairs (especially in condos/apartments)

A water heater shouldn’t only be replaced after it completely fails.
Once you notice these warning signs, it’s time to take action:

🔻 Rust on the outer shell or corroded fittings
🔻 Water stains or leaks at the bottom
🔻 Inconsistent water temperature, slow heating, or louder noises
🔻 More than 10–15 years old (even if it still heats water)

📩 If your home’s water heater is over 10 years old, feel free to DM us and we can come take a look.

In Vancouver, more homeowners are upgrading their old AC systems to heat pumps — and it’s easy to see why. With our mild climate and relatively warm winters, heat pumps work extremely efficiently year-round.

❄️ Cool air in the summer
☀️ Reliable heating in the winter

One system can handle both your heating and cooling needs, making it a smart and convenient solution for many homes 👍

💰 The bonus many homeowners don’t expect
If your new energy-efficient heat pump system qualifies, you may be eligible for CleanBC rebates, helping reduce the overall upgrade cost significantly. That’s why many homeowners who originally planned to replace only their AC end up choosing a heat pump instead.

🌟 Is your AC over 10 years old?
If your system isn’t cooling like it used to, it may be time for an inspection. From there, you can decide whether it makes more sense to:

🔧 Repair your current system
❄️ Replace the AC
♨️ Upgrade to a heat pump system

A professional assessment helps you choose the most practical and cost-effective option for your home 👍

Recently, we upgraded attic insulation in several homes around Vancouver and noticed a very common issue:

When homes feel cold in winter or stuffy in summer, most people’s first instinct is to replace their heating or cooling system.

But honestly—if your roof insulation isn’t sufficient, it’s like a cup without a lid. Heat and cool air just keep escaping, and even the best equipment has to work overtime 💨

👇 Especially if you notice:
✔ The second floor is much hotter in summer
✔ Room temperatures are uneven in winter
✔ The heat runs for a long time but still doesn’t feel quite enough
✔ Your monthly energy bills are painfully high

In many cases, the problem isn’t the equipment—it’s the home’s insulation.

At AireEnergy, we’ve recently helped many Vancouver clients top up their insulation. After inspections, we found:
Some homes have significantly insufficient insulation thickness, and over time it gets compressed and deteriorates—losing its effectiveness.

✅ The good news: subsidies are currently available.

With the weather getting warmer, now is a great time to do the work. By the time the real heat arrives, your home will already feel much more comfortable 🌞

📍 We’ve been seeing a surge in bathroom fan replacements across Vancouver lately—and honestly, the warning signs are easy to miss until they become a bigger issue:

❌ Mirrors staying foggy long after your shower
❌ Lingering humidity, yellowing ceilings, or early mold spots
❌ Noisy or unreliable fans that barely work
❌ Dripping vents or dust buildup

In a damp climate like Vancouver’s, a weak bathroom fan just doesn’t cut it. Poor ventilation lets moisture creep into your walls, ceilings, and even flooring over time.

We’ve recently helped several homeowners upgrade to modern, ultra-quiet bathroom fans designed for convenience:
👉 Smart models with motion sensors that automatically kick in when humidity rises—set it and forget it.

🎉 Plus, you may qualify for up to $1600 in government rebates (available for select detached homes; income criteria applies, condos not included).

This type of layout is actually very common in Vancouver.
Originally, it had an old-style boiler + hot water tank, with all the equipment crammed into a narrow corner of the laundry room. The space efficiency was low, and it wasn’t very convenient to use.

The client’s needs were straightforward:
👉 Didn’t want the system taking up so much space anymore
👉 Wanted to simplify everything
👉 Also wanted to upgrade the equipment at the same time

Our solution: switch directly to a combi boiler (condensing combination boiler).

Key points of the retrofit included:
✔ Removing the existing boiler + hot water tank
✔ Reconfiguring the piping (integrating heating + domestic hot water)
✔ Wall-mounted installation to free up floor space
✔ Adding condensate drainage + a new venting system
✔ Adjusting the gas line to ensure stable supply

The results are pretty obvious after the upgrade:
✅ A single unit mounted on the wall
✅ A large section of floor space freed up
✅ A cleaner system with more organized piping
✅ Instant hot water on demand

There are so many older homes in Greater Vancouver where equipment is squeezed into laundry rooms like this. Instead of letting two outdated systems keep taking up space, it makes more sense to simplify everything in one go.

Recently, I helped a client in Vancouver upgrade to a heat pump water heater. After using it, there’s really just one impression: stable, energy-efficient, and quiet 💯

Many older water heaters at home tend to develop these issues over time 👇
❌ Unstable water temperature — showering feels like a gamble
❌ Slow heating — not enough hot water during peak hours
❌ High energy consumption — bills keep getting worse every year

This time, we installed a heat pump water heater (HPWH) 👇
✔ Uses heat from the air to warm water — much more energy-efficient than traditional electric heaters
✔ More consistent temperature — much more comfortable for daily use ^_^
✔ Low noise — hardly noticeable when placed in the basement
✔ All-in-one design — compact and suitable for most detached homes

✨ Great rebates available
CleanBC Rebate — up to $3,500💰

Choosing heating in Vancouver?
🔥 Furnace = fast + budget
💧 Boiler = comfort + quiet

✔ Ducts? Go furnace
✔ No ducts / want floor heat? Boiler

Have you guys in Vancouver noticed recently—
a sudden puddle of water under your heat pump outdoor unit at home? 🤔

Don’t rush to grab your phone and call for repairs—listen to me, it’s just “breathing” normally! 🌬️

🔍 Why does it leak water in spring?
Because Vancouver has big temperature swings between day and night in spring!
During the day, when the sun comes out and the heat pump is running (or naturally defrosting),
frost or condensation forms on the outdoor unit’s condenser.
When the temperature rises, the frost melts into water and naturally drains out.

✅ This is completely normal!
It’s just like how windows get condensation in winter when the heat is on.

⚠️ The only thing you should check:
Make sure the drain hole isn’t blocked by leaves or dirt.
As long as the water flows out smoothly and isn’t backing up into the unit or soaking the base,
there’s usually nothing to worry about! 🌷
