Born in Canada's scenic Okanagan wine rich region, Crush Dynamics has been focused on doing great things with wine derivates since 2016. Founder, Bill Broddy, was inspired by the grape eating habits of North America's healthiest bear, a famous resident of the Okanagan valley. Even after pressing, grapes are still exceptionally rich in phenolic compounds, fiber, antioxidant properties due to anthocyanins, hydroxybenzoic acid, hydroxycinnamic acid, contained in the grape skins and seeds. Crush Dynamics is working with some of the leading wine scientists in Canada, pioneering a new proprietary process for transforming winery derivative into valuable nutrition.

This is an incredible recognition and a proud moment to stand among the leading 190 women driving innovation at global scale.

👩‍🌾 The UN’s International Year of the Woman Farmer spotlights women as 43% of global agriculture. Our 2025 FoodTech 500 data represents progress and also a structural funding barrier that cannot be ignored.

Despite clearing the same innovation hurdles as their peers, female founders face a persistent “access gap” that widens at later stages:

♀️ The Median Gap: Female-founded finalists raised a median of $2.76M, nearly half the $5.17M raised by others in the same cohort.
💰 The Series B+ Barrier: Only 6.8% of female-founded companies in the FoodTech 500 reached Series B or later, compared to 17.1% of their counterparts.
🌎 Global Disparity: In 2024, all-female founding teams received just 2.3% of total global VC, with that figure dropping to a staggering 0.5% in Europe.

The bottom line: 190 female-founded FoodTech 500 companies is a record for us in our rankings, but it’s also just the start. The food system relies on women not just in March.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Neil Cracknell, a trusted advisor to Crush Dynamics and a highly respected voice in the food industry.

Neil brought invaluable experience, strategic thinking, and genuine care to our work. His belief in our vision — helped shape our direction and inspired confidence in our team. He was a thoughtful leader whose contributions left a lasting mark.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of working with him.
