The iconic MV Ithaca rests on the sea-bed 12 miles east of Churchill in Bird Cove.

The ship's rudder fractured in an 80 mph gale force wind and when anchors failed to hold, she ran aground on Sept 14, 1960.

Our first mission with the Geometrics, Inc. MAG Arrow was a success. We were excited to work with GeoScan Subsurface Surveys & SNC on this interesting project!

We were happy with flight planning software from SPH Engineering The DJI was a great tool for the job offering extended flight time & excellent obstacle avoidance.

Preliminary readings looked promising!

All the batteries you need to fly successful lidar missions all day (of course with a help of a generator).
UAViation team recently completed LiDAR data acquisition of 700 hectares (7 sqkm / 1700 acres) of forest for our client in 2 days.
Here are some interesting stats:

Total area: 700 ha.
Number of flights: 25
Flight height: 120 m AGL (400 feet)
Side distance: 100

As a professional operator, we always put safety first.
This is a very good example of why we should always be alert, stay vigilant and think twice before flying in any airspace.

Yesterday we received an approval from RPAS Coordinating Office, but after reviewing the authorization we realized that they could not have authorized the zone and it would've needed authorization from YVR. So I contacted them to revise the authorization to NOT APPROVED and to get permission from YVR.

"Good morning Ali,

Thank you for your phone call this morning alerting us to our processing error for this RPAS authorization request. As you suspected, this application requires the approval of Vancouver Tower. Your previous approval is hereby retracted, and your request is now being submitted to Vancouver Tower for their review.

Due to the location and altitude of VR20201005-99I RPAS Flight Authorization Request, your request has been forwarded to Vancouver Tower for further processing.

Be aware that the proposed flight is NOT APPROVED until you receive a written authorization from NAV CANADA.

Our apologies for the error, and thank you for your professionalism and vigilance,"
