We’re excited to be part of the Canadian Trail Summit this June in Winnipeg, hosted by Trans Canada Trail, and especially proud to see McElhanney planner Mark Barsevskis co‑presenting.

The Summit brings together people who care deeply about trails as places for connection, recreation, resilience, and community wellbeing.

Those ideas strongly reflect how we work with public‑sector partners to plan infrastructure that supports communities that are livable today and adaptive for tomorrow.

We’re glad to support this national gathering and the conversations shaping the future of trails across Canada.

It’s Canadian Environment Week, a time to celebrate the environment and the actions people and communities take to protect it.

One way communities protect what they rely on: planning ahead for climate-driven hazards like wildfire.

McElhanney supported the North Salt Spring Water Works District with a Wildfire Analysis for the Maxwell Creek Watershed on Salt Spring Island. The work included wildfire risk and mitigation options, integration of climate change projections, and a review of funding opportunities to support implementation.

Last week, administrators from across the company headed to Kelowna, B.C. for the 2026 Administrator Advisory Group (AAG) Workshop - a few days of learning, collaboration, and sharing ideas.

From marketing tips and Copilot demos to leadership updates and interactive sessions, there was a lot packed into two days (plus a networking dinner or two 😉). The workshop wrapped up with great conversations and takeaways to bring back to teams from across the firm.

Huge thank you to all the presenters, AAG Co-Chairs Zoe Yang and Tessa Thiesen, and Michelle Hevey for all her work behind the scenes to make the event such a success. 👏

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, a time to learn about and celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

“This work requires care and sustained commitment,” says Jennifer Price, President & CEO. “We have a responsibility to build respectful relationships and apply what we’re learning in how we work every day. Initiatives like our Reconciliation Action Program and participation in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) help guide us, but progress comes down to consistent action over time.”

🌈 Pride Month is a time to celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and emphasize the importance of building inclusive workplaces where people feel they belong.

“Creating a workplace where people feel safe and respected takes ongoing effort,” says Jennifer Price, President & CEO. “Pride Month is a time to celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and the diversity within our workplace and communities. It’s also a reminder that this work continues year-round. We each have a role to play by listening, learning, and treating one another with care.”

As part of Pride Month, we are making time to listen and learn together. On June 12th, McElhanney's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee is hosting a Lunch and Learn with Mic Liu, exploring intersectional belonging in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) industries, and how identity can shape workplace experience.

This session is an opportunity to better understand how inclusion shows up in our day-to-day work, and the role we all play in creating space where people feel valued and supported.

The Prairies South team showed up strong for the 2026 Servus Calgary Marathon Corporate Team Challenge! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

This past weekend, our staff from across the Prairies South Region came together in Calgary for the marathon weekend! It was great to see staff, family, and friends cheering, running alongside the team, and joining a well-deserved post-run brunch to celebrate.

In the weeks leading up, there was no shortage of friendly competition and team challenges to build momentum and keep everyone motivated. Kudos to everyone who participated and a big thank you to the organizing team for bringing it all together. 👏

It’s game time! The 2026 McElhanney Cares Charity Tournament kicks off this week in Kelowna. We’re welcoming hockey teams 🏒, soccer teams ⚽, and our first‑ever slo‑pitch teams 🥎 to the field, rink, and diamond.

Our teams have already raised $88,093 for Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon ❤️. Thank you to everyone who has donated, fundraised, volunteered, or supported the event so far. There’s still time to help make an even bigger impact for families who need to stay close during their child’s medical care.

We’re excited to kick off onboarding for our newest interns!

Last week, we hosted our annual Intern Welcome Mixer: a chance to connect, learn, get a feel for the many career paths at McElhanney, and have fun while doing so! While the event was virtual, our Edmonton interns were able to gather in person, meet face-to-face, and make those first connections right away.

A big thank you to our speakers – Santino Pirillo, Jarrett Zilinski, Tyler Bondaroff, and Celeste Steyn – for sharing their experiences, advice, and insights to help guide the journey ahead.

Looking forward to seeing this group grow and thrive!
