What happens when a design looks good on paper, but doesn’t actually work?

This triplex conversion project came to us with a full set of approved drawings by another architect. But the kitchen layout was blocking a window, the bathroom was awkward, the new entrance and staircase were completely off, and the angled wall in the bedroom didn’t align in real life.

Before construction began, we redrew the entire plan, correcting every issue to ensure the final result was both permit-compliant and functional. What you’re looking at here is a 3D rendering of our new proposed plan - a visual representation of the layout we’ll be building.
