The Institute of Infrared Thermography began its inception back in 1978 when there were no standards, but there was a need to educate new people in the field of Infrared Thermography. Even though infrared cameras and software has changed dramatically, there are now worldwide standards, yet infrared physics and heat transfer remain basically the same. We still have to understand the basics of therm

al and infrared physics to accurately interpret and diagnose the thermal image. At IRT we focus always on real world, practical thermography and applications. We look at continually what it is you need to be successful at your job. The Institute Program has been in place since 1984. We are proud to continue this tradition of excellence with the next evolution of the International Infrared Standards. The Institute of Infrared Thermography is an Associate Member and an Approved Training Organization (ATO) of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT). We provide certification training based on the PCN Certification Scheme, EN 473, ISO 18436 and the American ASNT SNT-TC-1A standard.
