Summer is always a high pressure season for the construction industry, and the crew has been working hard to make sure your lumber makes it to the project site when you need it.

We love a good progress update!

Work is underway at Hybury House to add a new covered terrace. The homeowners have been hard at work restoring their heritage home with beautiful wood details inside and out.

The next step is to paint, making these brand new posts and beams feel like they’ve been part of the house forever.

That’s a wrap on a wild expedition to pick up the new sawmill from California!

7 days, too many hours of driving, too few hours of sleep, back to back 12 hour days packing up and loading trucks in 44 degree heat…

Now to put the thing back together and get her running! Shouldn’t be too hard, right?

We’ve been running two Wood Mizer LT50 sawmills as hard as we can for a while now, and at the rate we’re going we don’t have much room to grow.

This week Ben is headed to California to pickup a new electric sawmill system that will allow us to work faster, and keep taking on more customers and bigger projects.

We still have to run power to our site so it’ll be a while before we get things up and running, but if you’re keen to follow along on the journey, keep an eye out for updates from Ben’s mission South!

This one's for all the dads doing the double shift to make things the best they can be at work and at home. Whether you're working a demanding job or building a business, hats off!

These two little boys are the reason Ben puts in so much effort to show what's possible if you set your mind to something, take some risks, and back it up with hard work. They're also the reason he's so damn tired by the time his head hits the pillow.

A moment of appreciation for this absolute stunner of an approach to our customer's Airbnb in Tofino.

The home is one of the highest in Tofino, which means stunning views that you have to earn. Instead of climbing up a steep driveway at the end of a long drive, guests get to ascend up this forested pathway, dappled with sunlight.

We were lucky enough to visit and can't wait to go back!
