We love hearing how solar becomes part of everyday life for our clients. From powering the home to charging the car in the driveway, the energy generated on their roof is helping them take a more proactive approach to their long-term energy costs.

Thank you to our client for sharing their experience and for trusting the Shift team with their solar journey!

POV: you discover a hidden island off the coast of Colwood… and somehow end up talking about solar?! 🏝️☀️

We recently visited Cole Island to check out its off-grid solar setup, including a new EG4 battery our team had recently installed. While we were there, we had the chance to tour the historic sites and explore this unique little island.

The island is cared for by the Friends of Cole Island Society, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and sharing this piece of local history. A big thank you to Baron for showing us around and giving us a glimpse into the island’s history!

Want to explore it for yourself? Cole Island is open to visitors year-round from sun-up to sun-down and can be reached by boat, kayak, or paddle board. Once there, you can explore the island’s history through the self-guided tour.

A quick note before you go: Esquimalt Harbour is administered by DND. Vessels entering the harbour are requested to contact King’s Harbour Master Operations (KHM OPS) to advise them of their arrival.

Powering places that matter. ☀️

Every commercial solar project is an investment in the future, and we're proud to have partnered with Menno Place in Abbotsford to install a 40.06 kW solar system that will generate clean, renewable energy for decades to come.

As a longstanding part of the Abbotsford community, Menno Place provides housing, care, and support for seniors. Sustainability is something they take seriously, and it was especially meaningful to hear how much excitement the solar project created among residents.

As they share in their testimonial, age hasn't changed their enthusiasm for looking toward the future. Residents were excited to see solar become part of their community and to know they're playing a part in supporting a more sustainable future.

We're honoured to have worked with an organization that cares deeply about both the people it serves and the impact it can make beyond its community!

Today, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

We honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and Indigenous communities across Canada.

Today is a time to listen, learn, reflect, and acknowledge the lasting impacts of the residential school system. It is also a reminder that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility, and that each of us has a role to play in carrying truth, understanding, and respect forward.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

Cloudy skies? Your solar panels are still working! ☁️☀️

They still generate electricity from the daylight that makes its way through the clouds, just at a lower output than you’d typically see on a clear, sunny day.

So yes, solar still works when the forecast looks a little more like this. 🌧️
