Kinetic Construction is in search of External Facilitators on a contract basis to design and facilitate leadership workshops for our internal training program, KCL Academy

Kinetic is a mid-sized construction company that employs approximately 200+ team members, has been in business for 40 years and has offices in Vancouver, Victoria, and Courtenay. Our core values are a desire to build enduring Relationships, a Passion for our business, and an endeavour for Continuous Improvement in all we do. We focus on teamwork, trust and, most importantly, respect for people.

We are proud to deliver internal training through KCL Academy, which delivers content in three distinct leadership streams: Leading Self, Leading Others and Leading the Organization. At KCL Academy, we believe that learning together is key to bridging company-wide knowledge gaps, enabling us to deliver high-quality construction projects that exceed our clients’ expectations.

Our comprehensive programs are designed to empower every employee, whether they are an aspiring apprentice or a seasoned leader, with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their role.

All content is delivered virtually, via Teams. Each program has an internal Sponsor, supported by the Talent and Development team and is hosted by an External Facilitator.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop workshop content that aligns with Kinetic’s values and leadership competencies.
• Facilitate online learning sessions that are engaging and interactive.
• Participate in preparation and feedback sessions before and after workshops
• Create all visual content, course descriptions, and submit to the admin team for distribution at least two weeks before each session
• Providing executive coaching is optional, but considered an asset

Position Specifications

Qualifications
• 7+ years of facilitation, instruction, and course development experience
• 5+ years of professional public speaking experience
• Keynote speaker experience
• Degree in education, social work, business or organizational psychology is considered an asset

Knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Experience with online facilitation and technology
• Knowledge and practical application of adult learning and instructional design theory and best practices
• Strong communicator, relationship builder and business leader
• Knowledge of the construction industry is considered an asset

We’re thrilled to announce that Courtenay branch’s projects have been recognized with two prestigious awards at the 2025 Vancouver Island Commercial Building Awards!

🏆 Retail Award of Excellence
Quinsam Crossing Retail Development, located at 101-125 Brant Drive in Campbell River, the Quinsam Crossing Retail Development is a dynamic commercial center on the We Wai Kai Community. Designed to reflect the spirit of “Quinsam – the resting place,” this project features a mix of thoughtfully selected retail and commercial spaces built by Kinetic, including Starbucks Quinsam Crossing and Quinsam Liquor Store Ltd. Significantly, the Starbucks at Quinsam Crossing is the first café and drive-thru in Canada to be both licensed and operated by a First Nation community. This Indigenous-led initiative is a powerful example of community-driven development, creating local employment opportunities and contributing to the continued economic growth and success of the We Wai Kai Nation.

Huge thanks to the We Wai Kai - Cape Mudge First Nation and WA Architects for their vision and collaboration on this exciting project.

🏆 Affordable Housing Award of Excellence
Naut’sa mawt Affordable Housing Project, located at 1679 McPhee Avenue in Courtenay, the Naut’sa mawt Affordable Housing Project provides 40 homes for Indigenous Elders, individuals, and people with disabilities living on low to moderate incomes. The name “Naut’sa mawt,” meaning “together as one” in Coast Salish, beautifully captures the project’s emphasis on community, inclusivity, and cultural connection. Designed with residents in mind, the building features a dedicated gathering space for culturally appropriate programming—such as community feasts, storytelling, and other traditional events—that foster a strong sense of belonging. Construction followed BC Housing’s Design and Construction Standards and achieved Energy Step Code 4 compliance, ensuring improved indoor health and comfort, lower utility costs, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and greater community resilience.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Wachiay Friendship Centre, M'akola Housing Society, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), and BC Housing for their vision, leadership, and financial support in bringing this meaningful project to life.

On April 9th, Kinetic demonstrated its unwavering commitment to growth and teamwork during a transformative Kaizen. The gathering united key figures across the organization—our President, Branch Managers, Pre-Construction and Estimating Teams, Project Directors, Field Operations Managers, and Business Development Team—to collaborate and drive efficiency to new heights.

During this Kaizen, teams shared their unique workflows, learned about each other's processes, and pitched ideas to enhance efficiency in proposal development. The result? Actionable solutions and a united team ready to continue driving Kinetic forward.

This collaborative effort was only possible thanks to the dedication and hard work of every team member who contributed their expertise and creativity.
